Jordan Cole and his wife, Jade Cole, are the founders of Cheat Lake Charters, a business they launched in May 2024 after recognizing an opportunity to bring something truly unique to the area. Inspired by a friend’s successful charter company in North Carolina, they realized that if they wanted a surf boat — and wanted to share that experience with others — building a business around it was the perfect fit. With nothing like it available on Cheat Lake at the time, Cheat Lake Charters was born. Since its launch, the company has grown quickly, expanding community awareness and offering charters on Deep Creek Lake and surrounding areas during the summer of 2024.

With over 20 years of experience on the water, boating since childhood on the Chesapeake Bay and in Ocean City, along with 15 years of surfing experience, Jordan brings deep knowledge and confidence to every charter. After becoming a proficient surfer himself, he discovered a passion for teaching others and creating a fun, laid-back environment — especially on warm summer days. Together, Jordan and Jade have built Cheat Lake Charters around core values of fun, safety, and exceptional guest accommodations.

Dustin is an essential part of the on-water experience, working alongside Captain Jordan to deliver safe, fun, and memorable charters. As a fellow operator, Dustin helps ensure each trip runs efficiently while keeping guest experience a top priority. Together with the rest of the team, he plays a key role in creating a welcoming, high-energy environment that makes every lake day unforgettable.

Kayla plays a key role behind the scenes as the scheduler, marketing lead, and office manager for Cheat Lake Charters. She is the primary point of contact for bookings and guest inquiries, helping ensure every charter runs smoothly from the first message to the final dock-up. Kayla’s organization, communication, and attention to detail help create a seamless experience before guests even step on the boat.
